Authentic & collaborative

My approach is warm, conversational, and non-judgemental. I like to give clients the power to direct their own growth, yet I can also take the lead when that best supports you.

I believe…

  • All behavior makes sense in context. I seek to honor and understand your context — your family, communities, belief systems, identities, and the cultures that have shaped you.

  • All parts of us are trying to help. We do and think things because, at least at some point, they have worked for us. So I seek to welcome and get to know all parts of you, even the parts you might not like.

  • Each of us have innate wisdom about how to heal. When we slow down and allow ourselves to listen, our bodies and feelings offer us so much guidance about what will help us heal.

My Approach

Experiential

I focus on the here and now — the emotions coming up in real time during a session. This allows us to go deeper and actually work with the emotions (not just talk about them).

Relational

Growth happens in authentic relationships. I prioritize relational attunement and safety, so that our relationship can be a place for you to practice and stretch — whether that’s taking up more space or leaning into deeper vulnerability with your partner.

Systemic

We are all interconnected and shaped by our relationships, environments, and cultures. Understanding how you are situated within your unique context helps us best understand where you have come from and where you want to go.

A little more about me

After close to 10 years working in non-profit communications, I pivoted and pursued my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. I had experienced the power of therapy in my own life, and wanted to offer others the experience of having a steady, honest, and compassionate person act as a witness and a guide when things feel hard.

While in graduate school, I interned at Council for Relationships in Philadelphia and continued on as a staff therapist there for several years. I also have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), both experiential modalities that go beyond talking to work with emotion in the body.

I live near Philadelphia, have opinions on all the local coffeeshops, can’t get enough of our city’s murals, and am a big proponent of library cards.
